The purpose of the Gordon Conference on "Visualization in Science and Education" is to bring together scientists from natural, physical, engineering and life science backgrounds, educators, and cognitive psychologists at the cutting edge of visualization to ensure that the next generation of images and image-handling software is ever more effective at conveying the intended meaning and also to enable students to "see" abstract concepts.
